Ron September 17th
Ron and Gwen found a facility in Athens they really like that has one male bed left. The administrator just happened to come in today so they were able to talk to her. Please pray that they will accept him. She said everything was ok from what she could see but Grady's Social Worker has to make the call. Mama is gonna try on Monday to get Grady to make the call.
Also, Ron moved his leg twice today for Gwen on command. She was able to get him to hold a pen in his hand and draw a line. She is not sure if the line is because he was so shaky or if he did it. I would like to believe the latter. God is good!!
These are from Ron's sister Beth today.

Ron Update
Ron's has been moved to another floor and is now on the 6th floor of the east wing at Grady. His room number is 6a-21. Will update the times for visiting hours once I hear from my mama. He will only be on this floor until they can find a facility that will accept him.
Go and visit him! We need to share our love with Ron and his family.
Please continue to pray for Ron and his healing.

I know many of you have been waiting on me to write you and update... I apologize it hasnt been sooner. I will try and post something once a week.
Billy's surgery went well on Sept. 7th. He is going to have to have multiple more procedures on his right eye. Billy had another surgery yesterday to remove the 2 large growths on his voice box and to open up his airway. His surgery went very well and he is back in his room today after a night in ICU.
They are talking about discharging him from Shepherd Friday but he will still have to continue 8 weeks of out patient rehab.
Ron is still in ICU at Grady. They are having to find a facility to move him to but it is proving to be difficult. There are not as many facilities that know how to do what Ron's care calls for. He is still at a stage 3 and they want him at a 4 before the Shepherd center will take him. The closest facility his parents have found is HOPEFULLY in Roswell but if not there they will have to move him to south of Macon.
Please continue to pray for Ron and his family. Go visit him!!! The more the visitors and faces he knows the better the healing process is. He looks great though. He opens his eyes and follows those who are talking but he only sometimes follows commands. We need him to follow more commands to get him into Shepherd.
The benefit at Tavern 99 was a great success!!! Thank you to all that came out!! Your love and encouragement is greatly appreciated.

Update: Billy will have his eye surgery on Wednesday. The muscles and tendons in his right eye are falling into the sinus cavity. The wires will also be removed on Wednesday. This morning when he was yawning 3 of the wires popped off, then the last one followed this evening while he was talking. The ENT will be placing tension rubber bands to hold his mouth in position until the bars are removed on Wednesday.
The insurance company was being a pain, again, but it got straightened out...for now. We may be dealing with the same problem next week. who knows?!?! I have got to say that I love the workers here at The Shepherd Center. They are pulling for Billy to their fullest abilities. -jill
Ron Update
The Shepard center came over to grady &did an assessment on my brother tuesday. He is rated a number 2 which is just one step up from comatose. He has to be a 4 before Medicaid will cover any type of brain rehab. Please continue prayer for my brother and my family. Daddy has decided that he will not place him in a nursing home. He will bring him home and will take care of the nursing care himself . But, unfortunately bringing Boo Boo home is not much of an option now. According to the doctor, dad would have to go through extensive training with Grady nurses. We are now back to looking at nursing facilities. Small steps. Still believe in miracles.
